HCG Diet Overview

Phase 1: The HCG Diet is generally divided into three (3) phases. The first 2 days of the program are know as Phase 1 or the Loading Phase. Here you will take the prescribed HCG medication while eat plenty of high-fat, high-calorie foods (1,500 to 2,000 calorie per day diet). During this "loading phase", you get to enjoy high fat foods (pizza, sausage and any fried foods that you wish).

Phase 2: Days 3-26 or 43 (depending on the plan you are on) are known as Phase 2 or the Weight Loss Phase. Here you will continue taking the HCG medication for an additional 21 or 38 days and eat only 500-1,000 calories per day.  At the end the HCG medication cycle, you will continue following the low calorie diet for an additional 3 days. The food choices are very specific in phase 2 and must be adhered to in order for the diet to be successful. A list of allowed foods will be provided and your daily meal plan can be followed in the EZDietPlanner & Fitness Tracker™ app.

Phase 3:  This phase is also known as the Stabilization Stage. It is a 21 day period where your allotted daily calories intake increases. You no longer take the HCG medication during this phase and are allowed to eat a wider variety of food with the exception of starches and sugars. How much weight can I lose with HCG?

Dr. Fisher’s HCG Diet Plan is a popular medical weight loss option for Philly residents looking to losing weight fast. While results vary from person to person, when you use HCG combined with a low calorie diet protocol of 500 to 900 calories a day you can burn 3,500-4,000 calories of stored fat daily which translates to about 1–2 pounds (0.5–1 kg) per day*.

In general, people who want to lose 15 pounds or less will need 23 days of HCG medication while people who need to lose more than 15 pounds will need 40 days of HCG medication. If you still need to lose more weight, you need to wait 21 days on a maintenance diet before starting a new HCG cycle.

What do you eat during Phase 2 of the HCG Diet?

The food choices are very specific in Phase 2 (Low Calorie Weight Loss Phase) of the diet. A list of allowed foods will be provided and will include some fruits (limited oranges, strawberries, apples and red grapefruit), nonstarchy vegetables including lettuce, celery, cabbage, cucumbers, onions and tomatoes as well as lean meats (chicken breast, ground beef, shrimp, lobster and white fish). What foods should be avoided?

Dr. Fisher recommends avoiding the the following foods when taking HCG and following the diet:
• Fatty foods, fatty fish, nuts, or anything made with oil
• Starchy vegetables
• Added sugar is not permitted in any form
